What the role is

Do you love Singapore for punching above its weight as a Little Red Dot? Can you identify with the grit exhibited by our founding leaders and generation as they worked hard to build Singapore to what it is today? If the answer is "yes", join us at the Founders' Memorial (FM)!

At the FM, we are creating a brand-new garden-museum experience for Singaporeans, by Singaporeans. A national landmark at the heart of our garden city, uncovering the story of how independent Singapore came to be, and bringing Singaporeans across generations together to reflect and have bold conversations about what our founding values mean today and for our future.

The FM is seeking a suitable candidate to join the Exhibitions team to develop and project manage the “FM by Night” experience, a special afterhours immersive experience that will transform the Viewing Gallery and outdoor garden of the FM and bring diverse audiences to the FM-Bay East area. You will be part of a multidisciplinary internal Exhibition team comprising experience designers and digital experts and cross-agency project team to create an indoor-outdoor light, sound and multimedia night experience, from concept and design, through to construction and public launch. Look forward to being a part of creating a living Memorial that unites, challenges and inspires Singaporeans of all generations towards a brighter future!

What you will be working on

  • Project Management: Work collaboratively with curators, artists, digital practitioners and other designers to project manage the content development, design and fabrication of the FM’s night experience and assist other key and related work streams such as setting up of Visitor Services leading to the launch of the FM in 2028. This includes preparing and presenting periodic updates to Management and stakeholders and working with the designers and project team to conduct engagement, prototyping and user testing sessions. In the longer term, manage periodic refresh of the night experience.

  • Project Administration and Contract Management: Provide administration, budgetary, procurement and operational support for assigned projects, including scoping and drafting tenders, coordinating inputs from internal departments, identifying potential consultants and vendors, and planning for tender related briefings, meetings and approvals. This includes close contract monitoring and management.

  • Budget Management: Monitor and track budget utilisation of assigned projects, prepare reports and seek approval clearances for proper accountability of funds and resources.

  • Documentation: Monitor the effectiveness of projects, and put together post launch reports, including evaluation and impact assessment with collated input from various departments.

What we are looking for

  • Disciplines relevant to spatial or experiential design, project management, finance or business administration.

  • Preferably at least 5-7 years of working experience in museums and attractions.

  • Excellent project management/administration, finance/budget management skills in development projects and contract management with proven track record in the museum, art exhibition, or large-scale public attractions space. Project Management certification will be an added advantage.

  • Experience and familiarity with public sector procurement and administration of public sector construction contracts such as Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract (PSSCOC).

  • Background in art with strong aesthetic or design sensibilities is advantageous.

  • Ability to think creatively to trouble-shoot and come up with solutions.

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

  • Some weekend and after-work hours engagements might be required – candidates should be prepared to exercise some flexibility in the work schedule.
