What the role is

The Conservation Management Department carries out outreach and education programmes to promote public awareness and best conservation practices among built heritage professionals. Our work spans exhibitions, public and professional talks, heritage activities, publications, and community storyboard programmes. Central to this work are two key initiatives: the Architectural Heritage Awards (AHA) and the Architectural Heritage Season (AHS). Established in 1995, the AHA recognises well-restored monuments and conserved buildings in Singapore, and the people behind them. The AHS is an annual festival celebrating built heritage and exemplary restoration work. Together, these initiatives advance professional standards in conservation while fostering broader community appreciation for URA's work in conserving and balancing Singapore's built environment. This internship will be under CUDG.

What you will be working on

You will be supporting the 1. Architectural Heritage Awards (AHA) - Assisting with the coordination of Award submissions (e.g reviewing submission materials, updating databases on the submissions etc.) - Assisting with the administrative planning and logistics of the Assessment Committee meetings and Award Ceremony - Assisting with documentation of site visits by the Assessment Committee - Assisting with the development of Award collateral materials (e.g citations, portfolio write-ups etc.) 2. Architectural Heritage Season (AHS) - Conducting research on featured buildings or themes to support publication and content development - Assisting with exhibition planning and design - Assisting with the administrative planning and coordination of programmes (e.g talks, tours, exhibitions etc.) including accreditation schemes - Assisting with event management and on-ground logistics for outreach programmes - Assisting publicity and editorial materials for the programmes Learning Outcomes You can look forward to gaining 1. Knowledge of Singapore's Conservation Programme. - The intern will develop a foundational understanding of architectural heritage conservation in Singapore, including the principles and criteria behind recognising well-restored buildings, and the role of public programming in promoting conservation best practices. 2. Stakeholder Coordination - By supporting the coordination of Assessment Committee meetings and liaising with award applicants and programme partners, the intern will develop an appreciation for managing multiple stakeholders in a professional environment. 3. Programme and Event Management - By the end of the internship, the intern will have gained hands-on experience in planning and coordinating events and programmes, from administrative preparation through to on-ground execution. 4. Professional Communication and Writing - Through drafting citations, write-ups, and publicity materials, the intern will strengthen their ability to communicate heritage content clearly and engagingly. #LI-URAINTERNSHIP

What we are looking for

Internship Period: Full-time internship from June - November 2026 (6-months internship). Students pursuing Architecture, and Architecture Conservation related courses. We are looking for candidates with the following attributes: - Organised - Good eye for detail - Basic photography - Physically agile and willing to do outdoor work/engagements - Comfortable talking to people from different cultural backgrounds - Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel is preferred NOTE: We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
