What the role is

Purpose of Job

The officer will be part of SFA’s investigation and enforcement team to address illegal street hawking activities in Singapore.

What you will be working on

Duties
Officer is required to:
•Analyse and interpret data/trends using technology tools to determine hotspots and mode of operations to be deployed.
•Participate in projects/reviews to adopt digitisation/AI tools to enhance processes and operations.
•Handle appeals and put up submissions with recommendations.
•Conduct audits on outsourced enforcement service providers.
•Coordinate with other government agencies or stakeholders on regulatory issues relating to street hawking.
•Conduct inspection and other field operations where required.
•Develop/review operating procedures/work instructions for relevant work processes.

What we are looking for

Requirements
•Adaptive and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
•Possess good communication and writing skills.
•Team player, good interpersonal skills and resourceful.
•Possess a valid Class 3 driving license will be an advantage.
•Relevant qualifications in disciplines such as business development, food science, engineering, data analytics will be useful.
•In the event of operational exigencies, be required to work outside normal office hours, including weekend/public holidays
•Able to use basic suite of Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge and experience in data analytical tools and software is an advantage.

About Singapore Food Agency

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is a new Statutory Board formed under the ‘Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) to oversee food safety and security. The SFA will serve as the single point of contact for public feedback on food-related issues, and strengthen management of foodborne disease outbreaks to protect public health. The SFA will also facilitate more business-friendly regulations with oversight of all food safety policies and consolidation of food laboratory capabilities to deepen competencies in food diagnostics, and research and development in food safety.
